In a thrilling encounter at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Team India showcased their dominance over Australia, clinching the 5th T20I and securing the series with a resounding 4-1 victory. Shreyas Iyer‘s spectacular innings and Mukesh Kumar‘s brilliant bowling performance were the highlights of a match that had fans on the edge of their seats.

Asked to bat first, the Indian batting lineup displayed a mix of flair and resilience. Yashasvi Jaiswal got the team off to a solid start with a quick 21 off 15 balls, setting the tone for the innings. However, it was Shreyas who stole the show with a magnificent knock of 53 runs off 37 deliveries. Iyer’s innings included five fours and two sixes, showcasing his ability to control the game and accelerate when needed.
Jitesh Sharma (24) and Axar Patel (31) also contributed crucial runs, respectively, powering India to a challenging total of 160/8 in their 20 over. The Australian bowling attack, led by Jason Behrendorff and Ben Dwarshius, managed to pick up two wickets each but couldn’t prevent India from reaching a competitive total.

Chasing a target of 161, Australia started their innings with determination. Ben McDermott played a crucial role, scoring a brilliant 54 off 36 balls and anchoring the innings for the visitors. Travis Head (28) and Matthew Wade (22) contributed quick runs, but the Indian bowlers, led by the impressive Mukesh, made sure to keep the pressure on.

Mukesh emerged as the hero for India with a stellar bowling performance.
