Shilpa Agnihotri shared that the upcoming show will also explore Kaikeyi’s back-story.

Actress Shilpa Agnihotri known for her role as Ganga Sahil Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Vidhi in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, is now gearing up for her return to television screens with the mythological show, Srimad Ramayan. In a recent interview with ETimes TV, she shared insights into the grandness of the show, emphasising its unique portrayal of the story of Ramayan, revealing aspects never before explored. Shilpa, expressing her deep religious beliefs, also spoke about her profound love and belief in God. Shilpa highlighted that the audience is in for a novel experience as certain aspects of Ramayan, which remained concealed, are indeed extraordinary.

“Just like the launch, our show is also going to be grand,” she said. “This will be the first time Ramayan will be presented in detail which has not been done before. So the audience is going to be in for something new. Ramayan ko lekar kuch pehlu hai joh dikhaye darshaye nahi gaye hain and they are absolutely phenomenal,” she added.

Shilpa further explained that, unlike previous portrayals that primarily focused on Lord Ram’s birth, this rendition will delve into events preceding Dashrath becoming Dashrath. It will explore Kaikeyi’s backstory, shedding light on her life and pivotal role in the Ramayan narrative, particularly during the Vanvas period. Shilpa anticipates that viewers will engage in discussions about the portrayal of Kaikeyi, challenging preconceived notions. “Why did the entire thing reach that point? Aisa Kya hua hota ke Kaikeyi uss vardan Ko maanti hai. This has become a negative thing, I don’t know if we are aiming at that but after seeing this version, people will start having a conversation if that was right or this is correct,” she explained.

Emphasising on a commitment to authenticity, she clarified that the show aims to present insights derived from ancient texts and scriptures, sparking audience fascination.

In the conversation ahead, Shilpa also expressed her profound religious beliefs, expressing her unwavering faith in God. She playfully mentioned her readiness to touch the feet of the actor playing Ram. “I so believe in God that one day the actor playing Ram will appear on the sets in getup and I will touch his feet,” she said.

Shilpa eagerly anticipates the opportunity to learn more about Lord Ram through her role in Ramayan, hoping to deepen her connection and evoke a similar sentiment in the audience. “I’m waiting to fall in love with Ramji and audience to fall in love with him. It is beautiful,” she further added.
